Harrisburg College Showcase
& Invitational Softball Tournament
July 24-26, 2009

Coaches,
We are proud to announce the
8th Annual Harrisburg College Showcase and Invitational Softball
Tournament. We would like to invite you to participate in this event as we
showcase players who will be entering their junior or senior year of high
school.
Your early commitment is
vital to the success of the showcase as players and parents are looking to see
who has committed to the showcase. We plan to post the first list of 2009 in
early January.
Last summer, the showcase
drew 63 athletes, 40 18U and 16U teams, and most importantly 31 college
coaches for the showcase/tournament.
The athletes will run
through drills testing their abilities in running, fielding, batting, bunting,
and throwing. Position players will be put into game like situations to show
their physical and mental abilities to make plays. Upon your arrival on
Friday, you will receive a booklet with a list of athletes and their resumes to
assist in identifying players. All participating teams are asked to send in
their rosters to assist you in identifying additional players during the games
on Saturday and Sunday. Statistics will be compiled and will be available at
the coaches hotel after 6:30 PM or at the fields on Saturday.

Pitching
Distance 43 as
well as the 18U age bracket for the tournament.
3.
Batting
All players will bunt 5 pitches and hit another 20.
4.
Catchers
we are currently working on additional drills to provide you with better catcher
statistics such as catch and release times and timed throws to second base.
5.
Bracket
Games Teams
will play three bracket games on Saturday. Bracket play games are 80 minutes
and complete the inning.
6.
Elimination
Games Sunday,
July 26. Games start at 8:00 AM.

The first 20 coaches who
commit to Friday and Saturday for this event will receive hotel accommodations
in Harrisburg for Friday, July 24. Food and drinks will be available to all
college coaches, spouses and staff who attend the showcase and tournament.
